About the Event
B.J. Reed and Company’s “Lady Sings the Blues” is an artistic offering that enables patrons to take a step back in time to experience one of America’s most revered musical eras. Spotlighting B.J.’s admiration of blues and jazz extraordinaires Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington – in addition to their notable style and flair – “Lady Sings the Blues” theatrically brings to life the greatest hits from each iconic catalogue. With inspiration drawn from the culture of the 1950s/1960s, biographical information regarding each artist’s professional and personal lives, cinematic adaptations and other historical influences, this show was developed by the Company to delight and enchant each and every patron through enactment of song, dance, and persona.
"Lady Sings the Blues" is an official event of the Druid City Music Festival, presented by the Tuscaloosa Tourism & Sports Commission. For two-day passes to attend this and all other festival events, visit www.dcmf2019.com.
